Announcement of an Exempt Purchase

ProviderTrust provides ongoing sanctions and credential monitoring services for the hospital's licensed and credentialed staff to ensure we remain in compliance with regulatory requirements and that our staff are properly credentialed to perform their role during patient care.

This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) Per regulatory requirements, UI Health must conduct ongoing verifications to ensure that clinical employees providing direct patient care hold the required licenses and/or certifications for their role. If an employee fails to renew their license, they must be taken off the schedule as they no longer meet the minimum requirements to perform the duty. Therefore, it is imperative to clinical operations of the hospital that our staff are kept up to date on their required licensure. As our staff population grows, the burden to manually track updates to our staff's required licenses and certifications increases. ProviderTrust will continue to allow UI Health to streamline the process for credential monitoring on a long-term basis and ensures the organization remains in compliance with federal and regulatory requirements. Ongoing use of this product would be greatly appreciated and would meet the Hospital's need to track and manage the required licensure of our clinical population.
