The University awarded a contract for Immunohistochemistry (ICH) reagents and consumable.
The products supplied by this vendor provides industry standard testing for IHC options that are already validated in the hospital. IHC stains are completed on these instruments, all of which is done on patient samples and provides results to guide therapy in patient care and treatment.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) IHC stains are completed on these instruments, all of which is done on patient samples and provides results to guide therapy in patient care and treatment.
