The University awarded a contract for a fetal monitoring system.
Philips' Avalon Fetal Monitoring and Intellispace Perinatal Central Monitoring System allow for visibility of the physiological status of both mother and baby in Labor & Delivery.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) This procurement will bring UI Health Labor and Delivery the most up to date technology to monitor mothers and babies. This will replace old, end of life technology that currently exists within the care area. The Fetal monitors are inclusive of wireless monitoring capabilities that no other vendor can offer.
