The University awarded a contract for a Samsung GC85A ceiling digital radiography system.
SAMSUNG GC85A is a premium ceiling digital radiography system that provides advanced low dose imaging experience and streamlining workflow. Saves time and allows us to focus on improving patient care.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) This is to replace the X-Ray machines which are at the end of life. Since the Equipment are at the end of life, it is hard to find parts to maintain the equipment. Currently one of the X-Ray room has been out of service for last two weeks. The patient care has been delayed because of the equipment being completely down. The new equipment will help in providing better patient care, patient satisfaction and employee engagement.
