The University awarded a contract for Energy Platform Generators.
Medtronic Valleylab FT10 Energy Platform Generators and accessories. The advanced and electro-surgery devices are all powered by smart generators that manage delivery of energy with precision-enabling algorithms and state of the art technology. This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) The University is a current user of 22 other FT-10 platforms in the hospital. Valleylab FT10 energy platform improves the performance on Medtronic devices with faster sealing and cutting times.
