The University awarded a contract for Swissotel Chicago UIDP Conference.
The collaboration with UIDP, a global network with a membership community, through the co-hosting of this event by OVCR, will greatly benefit UIC. It will provide an avenue for UIC/OVCR to engage with the UIDP community, fostering collaboration and offering members the chance to highlight their capabilities. These conferences typically draw corporate, government, nonprofit, and university leaders involved in research collaboration, facilitating the sharing of knowledge, and further enhancing UIC's profile in the academic and research community.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) The collaboration with UIDP, a global network with a membership community, through the co-hosting of this event by OVCR, will greatly benefit UIC.
