The University awarded a contract for Interim Staffing.
Interim staffing to support and aid the day-to-day operations in the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research (OVCR). The support is needed for the comprehensive research administration activities including review grant guidelines, research and review sponsor requirements and review application materials to ensure compliance prior to application submission.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) OVCR have many deadlines regarding our grants review processing and compliance. Our fundings for research depends on successful grant submissions. Without this procurement, we can lose a large amount of our potential fundings for our research and the university would lose revenue.
