Announcement of an Exempt Purchase

Under Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Grant: 1 NU58DP007395-01-00. Community Health Partners will assist the School of Public Health and the Office of Technology Management (OTM) with meeting the aims of the grant. The goal of the grant is to increase awareness and reach of the DEEP (Diabetes Education and Empowerment Program) in the cook county area through methods of training, providing resources and professional development for community healthcare workers to be able to perform/provide this education.

This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for events or activities for which the use of specific potential contractors is mandated or identified by the sponsor of the event or activity, provided that the sponsor is providing a majority of the funding for the event or activity. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(3)) The University was awarded this grant and is responsible for performing the goals proposed and approved. In order to accomplish the goals of the grant these community partners are required. Each partner has deliverables, that will be included in the contracting process, that are needed to move the grant forward towards successful outcomes.
