Project Description
The Library of the Health Sciences (942) and Human Resources Building (907) are served using individual chilled water system(s) and/or zone-based direct-expansion systems for comfort cooling and humidity control. Buyer has experienced multiple failures of the cooling system equipment and has determined that this equipment has reached the end of its anticipated useful life. This Project will replace both 250-ton water-cooled chillers in the Mechanical Room in Building 942 basement with two (2) new 200-ton air-cooled variable-speed chillers on the Building 942 roof. This entails demolishing the existing chillers, cooling towers, chilled and condenser water pumps, and piping as necessary. The Project will also modify the existing chilled water piping, electrical raceways, and controls to connect the new chillers. This Contract consists of renovating the existing chilled water and condenser water systems to install new chillers, pumps, valves, and instrumentation.
This Project is located at: 1750 W Polk St, Chicago- Building 942, Library of Health Sciences.
A MANDATORY pre-bid conference for all parties interested in bidding the project will be held in 1750 W Polk St, Room 123, Chicago at 10:00 AM on 11/15/2023.Representatives of the Owner and the Professional Services Consultant will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are REQUIRED to attend.
