Project Description
The project goal is to renovate the space currently used for student computing and divide it into several separate rooms into an open plan study zone with some areas equipped with laptops, an area equipped with tablets, and areas where students can bring their own laptops and plug-in along with the addition of a snack and fountain drink service area. The scope of work includes selective demolition of partition walls, casework, dropped ceilings, floor finishes, some sprinkler heads, plumbing fixtures, lighting fixtures, and HVAC registers & diffusers; salvage and re-installation of some ceiling grid and tile, light fixtures, sprinkler heads, and HVAC registers & diffusers; and the construction of new soffits, partition walls with plasma TV support, feature wall partitions with resin panels, new plumbing for a hospitality sink and fountain drinks, new sprinkler heads, re-zoning of the air handling system, a new low-profile raised access floor to accommodate new electrical below the finished floor, and new light fixtures, New finishes will include carpet tile and bamboo flooring (alternate PVC tile flooring), new suspended acoustical ceiling tile and grid in most locations with two drop ceiling clouds, and painting of walls and soffits in the entire space.
