Project Description
The Work shall consist of the abatement of existing hazardous materials throughout the interior of the building, the removal of an existing swimming pool and associated equipment, plumbing, and accessories, demolition of interior partitions and ceiling/flooring finishes, removal of existing building systems, and selective demolition in the existing exterior walls, along with removal of portions of exterior concrete flatwork and landscaping. Demolition work is intended to facilitate the construction of two and one half new floors in-filled into the existing 2-story swimming pool space, renovation of existing spaces on 5 floors adjacent to the main pool building, build-out with new partitions and ceiling/floor finishes, new mechanical systems, new windows and roof dormers, repairs and replacement of existing roofs, as well as new concrete and asphalt paving leading up to/from the building?s entrances and exits. The new infrastructure will include two new elevators, one in an internal shaft with an overrun above the existing roof line, the other with a small building addition and floor-byfloor connections to the existing structure.
A MANDATORY pre-bid meeting will be held in UIUC Huff Hall, 1206 South Fourth Street Champaign, IL 61820, Khan Annex, Room 2001 on 02/24/17 at 2:00 PM prevailing time. All prospective bidders are REQUIRED to attend.
