Project Description
The project work includes the renovation of seventy-eight existing suite-style showers in the five story wing of Sherman Hall. The proposed shower renovation will be a prototypical design to be applied universally to all showers undergoing renovation. The work will include demolition of existing water risers that supply the showers (including limited asbestos abatement of pipe insulation), existing terrazzo shower bases, ceramic tile surrounds, shower valves and heads, and plaster and lath as required. The proposed new work will include replacement of the water risers serving the showers, and new construction of shower bases and surrounds, moisture resistant backing board, new shower heads and pressure balancing valves, and new lath and plaster patching as required to complete the work. The project also contains an Alternate Bid for removing and replacing shower ceilings. This Project is located at: Sherman Hall, 909 South Fifth Street, Champaign, IL 61820.
