Project Description
This project will extend steam and condensate services from the current steam tunnel location on the south side of Peabody Drive to the south side of the Turner Hall Greenhouse Building. Service installation and demolition of abandoned services shall include: a. The series lines will include new 6" campus pressure steam, 2" high pressure steam and a 2 1/2" pumped condensate line. b. The existing steam tunnel structure will be modified at the connection point to create a wider and taller section to allow for the new steam and condensate connections, which will connect the south wall of the tunnel and cross, above walking height, to the north side of the tunnel before exiting north to Turner Hall Greenhouse. The tunnel modification will also include a steam tunnel vent structure. c. A steam condensate BTU metering station including DDC control, will be installed in Turner Hall Greenhouse. d. New steam pressure reducing valve station will be installed in Turner Hall Greenhouse for the two steam services. e. The existing direct buried steam service north of Turner Hall Greenhouse will be capped and abandoned in place. The existing direct buried connections to the steam and condensate mains located west of Turner Hall will be exposed, cut and capped.
