Project Description
The Project will renovate the existing Small Animal Surgery and Critical Care Services; and construct a building addition to house additional surgical operating, procedure and support spaces. The project will have two main areas of focus as follows:
Base Scope, Surgery Renovations & Expansion will create a small-animal surgery unit with the capacity to accommodate an increased caseload and improve operational efficiencies. The surgical service and support spaces will occupy the entirety of a new 10,098 SF addition. Renovation of 5,321 SF of the existing building will serve key surgical support spaces including Anesthesia/Induction and a Step Down fluids unit.
Alternate Bid Scope, Critical Care Services will be renovated within the existing Small Animal Clinic building, including the Emergency Department (ED) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This renovated area will accommodate an increased caseload and improve operational efficiency between the ED and ICU. The Critical Care work involves 4,215 SF and is add Alternate Bid Scope to the Base Scope and described in Alternate Bid #1 and Alternate Bid #2.
The construction work will include, but not limited to, site work for civil, landscape and utilities, interior renovations and new construction including: concrete, structural steel, partitions, doors and hardware, glazing, finishes, insulation, selective demolition, new building envelope, roofing, glazing, renovated and new HVAC system and distribution, plumbing, electrical, lighting, audio visual work and FFE installation and coordination as described in the contract documents.
