Project Description
The Springfield campus of the University of Illinois is seeking statements of qualifications from Professional Services Consultants interested in providing the Springfield campus with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services on a retainer basis. Each agreement will be for one year (beginning July 1, 2018 and ending June 30, 2019) with options to annually renew for up to three additional year periods (July 1 through June 30) for a total of four years, with the opportunity to make adjustments in the scheduled hourly rates after each renewal.

Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Engineering Services required under this contract include, but are not limited to: feasibility studies; programming; program analysis; and remodeling projects. In addition, the ability to provide a full range of professional services under the contract is required, including, but not limited to: cost modeling, preliminary design, construction documents, procurement (bidding) assistance, construction administration, construction observation, and post-construction services. The Professional Services Consultant should have access to consulting resources that provide diverse experience and expertise to include but not necessarily be limited to incidental architectural, hazardous material remediation, and environmental health & safety related issues as may be necessary to successfully complete each MEP Engineer Retainer project.

Mechanical and Plumbing Engineering Services required under this contract include, but are not limited to the engineering analysis, planning, and design of: plumbing systems; heating, piping, and refrigeration systems; temperature control systems; ventilation and air distribution systems; laboratory utility systems and fume hood exhaust systems; fire protection and sprinkler systems; steam and chilled water generation, distribution, and utilization systems; and other related mechanical systems and infrastructure improvements.

Electrical Engineering Services required under this contract include, but are not limited to, the engineering analysis, planning and design of: building or facility internal electrical distribution improvements (electrical power distribution at 15 KV or below); central signal, monitoring, and data transmission systems; security and card access control systems; building fire alarm and central alarm systems; energy conservation strategies; energy management and monitoring systems; economic, reliability, and life cycle cost analysis of power and lighting systems, and other related electrical systems and infrastructure improvements. Electrical Engineering Services shall also include support for mechanical systems described above.
