The University awarded a contract for event staffing services at athletics facilities.
Rhino Sports to provide the University of Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics with event staffing services at all athletics facilities, excluding the State Farm Center and any other athletics facilities mutually agreed upon.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for events or activities paid for exclusively by revenues generated by the event or activity, gifts, or donations for the event or activity, private grants, or any combination thereof. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(2)) Section 1-13(b)(4) of the Code exempts procurement expenditures necessary to provide athletic, artistic or musical services, performances, events or productions by or for a public institution of higher education."
