The University awarded a contract for Patient Account Collection Services.
This agency specializes in the resolution of aged accounts with first claim dates exceeding 60 days, focusing on balances under $10,000. Services are tailored to a range of account types including Outpatient, Emergency, Behavioral Health Series, Treatment Series, Hospital Outpatient Surgery, and Observation. The agency works to accelerate account resolution and enhance cash flow by targeting lower balance claims. The vendor is paid on a contingent rate which is only paid when the vendor collects on accounts owed the University. In that regard, the vendor is paid directly by the fees it generates from the activity it performs.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for events or activities paid for exclusively by revenues generated by the event or activity, gifts, or donations for the event or activity, private grants, or any combination thereof. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(2)) events or activities paid for exclusively by revenues generated by the event or activity, gifts, or donations for the event or activity, private grants, or any combination thereof.
