The University awarded a contract for Online academic coaches.
This exemption is for Online academic coaches who hold a master's degree or greater in the academic area of study to assist faculty of record in online courses. Instructional Connections uniquely combines Learning Management System (-embedded presence, rubric aligned grading, discussion moderation, proactive student outreach, and course administration with end to end vendor managementincluding recruitment, contracting, supervision, payroll, and accreditation aligned documentation. These services are paid for by tuition revenue generated from these online courses.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for events or activities paid for exclusively by revenues generated by the event or activity, gifts, or donations for the event or activity, private grants, or any combination thereof. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(2)) This is paid for by tuition generated from the online classes.
