The Varian Elite Service Contract for the BRAVOS system provides comprehensive manufacturer support to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the brachytherapy treatment system. Services typically include preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, OEM parts and labor, software updates, technical support, remote diagnostics, and priority response for service requests. The agreement is designed to maximize system uptime, maintain regulatory compliance, reduce the risk of unexpected repair costs, and support uninterrupted delivery of patient treatments.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) This preventative maintenance is necessary for the effective us of the medical equipment.
