The University awarded a contract for specialty flu vaccine.
Specialty flu vaccine needed to vaccinate UI Health patients, faculty and students.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) The University needs to vaccinate UI Health patients as well as the faculty and students of the east and west campuses. Sequris provides Flucelvax brand flu vaccine for people with egg allergies and Fluad brand for senior citizens that need a more robust vaccination.
