The University awarded a contract for Caspio Managed Application Services.
Caspio provides Managed Application Services (MAS) for training and provider management for the Colbert/Williams grant between UIC College of Nursing and the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS). The Caspio MAS is used to develop and maintain a robust data management system to assist in managing the performance of Colbert and Williams providers. Caspio will provide UIC with the Managed Application Services -200, the annual platinum plan, the corporate plan HIPAA add -on, data records, and file storage.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) This procurement is in the best interest of the University and State of Illinois as this relates to a joint
project between the University and State providing transitional long-term care services as part of the
Colbert/Williams Consent Decree. The application services provided by Caspio will help to streamline
the data transfer and tracking of members of the consent decree to ensure the highest level of care.
