The University awarded a contract for Hematology Oncology Advanced Practice Provider.
Procurement of an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) with specialized training in Hematology/Oncology, as well as additional expertise to support the Childrens Oncology Group grant activities. The APP plays a critical role in both clinical care and the coordination of grant-related responsibilities within the pediatric hematology/oncology program.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical at a university-operated health care center or dispensary that provides care, treatment, and medications for students, faculty and staff (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) If this exemption is not approved, the Division of Hematology/Oncology at UICOMP/OSF Childrens Hospital of Illinois will face disruptions to patient care and ongoing participation in the Childrens Oncology Group. This could negatively impact critical pediatric cancer care and research efforts, ultimately affecting the quality of services available to patients and families across the State.
