Announcement of an Exempt Purchase

Membership to American College of Cardiology Foundation (ACCF). This is a requirement to have access to the national registry from ACCF to continue to provide Cardiology Trans-catheter Valve Therapy (TVT) and Trans-catheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) services.

This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for membership in professional, academic, research, or athletic organizations on behalf of a public institution of higher education, an employee of a public institution of higher education, or a student at a public institution of higher education. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(1)) ACCF is the only national database and access to this database is required in order to continue to provide TVT and TAVR services. Without having access to the national registries, we would lose the TVT and TAVR Program at UIH.
