The University awarded a contract for FAA FAST Program 1MW Drivetrain Testbed - Lab Prep.
Facility modification to accommodate the new 1MW drivetrain testbed for research. This purchase supports the construction of a 1 Megawatt (MW) drivetrain testbed. It include all the facility modifications required and all the work needed until receiving the equipment (testbed plate, dyno and electrical cabinet). The building is owned by Fox and requires the use of Fox-designated contractors.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) Exempt per (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)).
