Temporary Clinical and Non-clinical Staffing Services UI Hospital and Clinics

This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical at a university-operated health care center or dispensary that provides care, treatment, and medications for students, faculty and staff (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) UI Health uses temporary staffing to cover normal position vacancies, unplanned increases in volume and union work stoppages to deliver medical services necessary for patient care and treatment. Positions filled include registered nurses, certified nursing assistants, lab and imaging technicians, medical assistants, dietary and clerical staff and locum tenens physicians. Cross Country Staffing has been a reliable source of temporary help and the Hospital has established processes in place to orient and train staff that are assigned to the Hospital & Clinics.
