The University awarded a contract for Genetic Testing.
Clinical Laboratory reference Testing for UI Health that cannot be performed in house. GeneDx offers highly specialized genetic testing with established clinical utility, interpretation expertise, and reporting capabilities that support patient care needs.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) Without this exemption for services would be disrupted to access to specialized genetic testing currently utilized for patient diagnosis and treatment planning.
