The University awarded a contract for a 3Dimension Mammography System.
The Hologic 3Dimension Mammography System will provide high quality 3D images needed by radiologist for their patients at UI Health.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) The new Hologic 3Dimensions system features breakthrough improvements to the Mammography exam designed to increase patient comfort without compromising on speed, dose or accuracy. The system is used directly on the patient for all mammograms on breast. The groundbreaking SmartCurve breast stabilization system was designed to change the way women experience breast imaging. Clinically proven to provide a more comfortable mammography experience without compromising on image quality, exam time, dose, or workflow.
