Addendum 01 supplements and amends the project manual and the drawings and shall be taken into account in preparing this proposal and shall become a part of the contract documents. Bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum by listing the number and date, where provided, on the bid form (document provided by the contractor). This Addendum 01 was originally posted only on the Eastern Engineering Plan Room 5/21/25 (plan room is identified in Front End Document 001000, item 2.2.E). This addendum identifies a non-mandatory pre-bid site walk through on 5/28/2025, removes an originally planned mandatory Pre-bid Conference on 5/20/2025, and adds an additional Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference on 6/3/25 (for those contractors who did not attend the 5/27/25 Pre-Bid conference). Each meetings’ virtual call in information can be found in the updated Front End documents included in Addendum 1. There are no changes to the previously published bid date(s).

Project Description
Description of demolition work: Selective demolition of existing fume hoods and associated HVAC sheet metal, selective demolition of scrubber exhaust sheet metal, selective demolition of plumbing piping and mechanical piping associated with fume hood removal and HVAC heating modifications, selective demolition of electrical power circuits associated with fume hood removal and lighting fixtures and ceiling accessories associated with ceiling removal, selective demolition of ceilings to allow for HVAC sheet metal modifications. Scope of demolition and removal work is indicated on drawings and specified in Section 02 4100.Description of new work: The general scope of this project is to replace existing fume hoods and upgrade the associated safety ventilation systems. New work includes: New acid, solvent, and toxic fume hoods as scheduled, new HVAC exhaust and supply ductwork for laboratories and clean rooms, new scrubber exhaust ductwork for positive pressure ductwork inside the building, existing scrubber refurbishment, new plumbing piping and mechanical piping for fume hoods and HVAC heating coils, new electrical circuits and wiring for fume hoods, new lighting and ceiling devices for laboratories requiring ceiling replacement for fumehood work, new building automation controls for fume hoods and HVAC upgrades, calibration and commissioning of existing clean room particulate monitoring system. Scope of the new work is indicated on the drawings and specifications.

Representatives of the Owner and the Professional Services Consultant will be present to answer questions regarding the project and bidding procedures. All prospective bidders are REQUIRED to attend at least one of the mandatory pre-bid conferences.
