The University awarded a contract for Total Internal Reflection Fluorescence (TIRF) Sys.
Research equipment currently in use in our lab requires an upgrade, to comprise a Total Internal Reflection Fluorescence (TIRF) system with four laser lines, capable of being used for super-resolution imaging (Stochastic Optical Reconstruction Microscopy, STORM) and single-particle tracking (SPT) of phage capsides, genomes, and gene products during infection.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) .
