Announcement of an Exempt Purchase

The University has purchased the Alma Library Management System under Bulletin reference number 1TLC1801. During the term of the 1TLC1801 award, the need has risen to add additional named users for the system and to purchase the Leganto add-on. The additional users were not anticipated during the term of the 1TLC1801 award. Leganto provides participants with a course resource list solution that integrates with the Alma system.

This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for procurement expenditures for any ongoing software license or maintenance agreement or competitively solicited software purchase, when the software, license, or maintenance agreement is available through only the software creator or its manufacturer and not a reseller ( 30 ILCS 500/1-13 (b)(10)) The named-user add ons are only available from Ex Libris. Furthermore, Ex Libris is the manufacturer of Leganto.
