The objective of this RFP is to secure potential lease agreements for students to consider, if needed. The apartments must be furnished apartments near the Governors State University campus, as defined. The resulting agreements specify that the firm acts as a housing provider at nearby apartment developments in vetted, affordable apartments for GSU student occupancy beginning August 1, 2026. The apartments will need to be similar to current GSU on-campus apartments to meet student housing overflow needs, including furnishing, utilities, renter insurance, and lease responsibilities to augment the current on-campus housing options. This award is not a guarantee of any lease. It provides options for students to consider when/if additional apartment-style off-campus housing is needed. The resulting contract is a concession under State of Illinois Procurement Code.
A virtual non-mandatory Pre-Proposal meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, March 5, 2026 at 10:00 am. Hyperlink for the virtual meeting is within the attached specification document.
There will be a second non-mandatory Pre-Proposal Meeting held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at 10:00 am Central Time. The hyperlink and more information is available in Amendment 2.
