The University awarded a contract for trace gas sensor deployment.
The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution seeks to assist the University of Illinois Chicago in the local deployment of trace gas sensors at the Martha's Vineyard Coastal observatory's Air Sea Interaction Tower. WHOI will support deployment and related technical maintenance of the sensor suite for an approximately one year long deployment scheduled to begin in the Fall of 2026.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) This service will generate peer-reviewed publications and provide training for staff and students.
