Security Services for Events at the Credit Union 1 Arena and Dorin Forum.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for events or activities paid for exclusively by revenues generated by the event or activity, gifts, or donations for the event or activity, private grants, or any combination thereof. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(2)) Without this exemption the University may be unable to provide the required security services for events held at Credit Union 1 Arena and UIC Forum, potentially resulting in event cancellations or postponements. This could lead to significant financial losses from ticket sales, venue rentals, concessions, parking, sponsorships, and other event-related revenue.
