The University awarded a contract for Intuitive Ion Endoluminal System maintenance.
This exemption is for full-service maintenance and support for our Intuitive Ion Endoluminal System used during minimally invasive diagnosis of peripheral lung nodules. The full service maintenance agreement assures that unit is up to date on all maintenance and software. Having a service maintenance agreement also maximizes system uptime.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) This maintenance and support is necessary for the effective use of the Intuitive Ion Endoluminal System.
