The University awarded a contract for GE HealthCare MR Smart Subscription.
The GE HealthCare MR Smart Subscription is a service program that keeps magnetic resonance (MR) imaging systems updated with the latest software and clinical application packages for a predictable annual fee. The subscription improves imaging efficiency, reduces scan times, and expands our clinical capabilities across neuro, body, cardiac, vascular, and musculoskeletal imaging. It also provides ongoing education and training resources to support staff competency and adoption of advanced technologies.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical at a university-operated health care center or dispensary that provides care, treatment, and medications for students, faculty and staff (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) Without this subscription, access to many advanced applications, software enhancements, and future upgrades would be lost, limiting our ability to provide state-of-the-art MRI services.
