Announcement of an Exempt Purchase

Residents needed to perform patient care for Department of Medicine, Infectious Diseases section on the weekends and other times when necessary. Each resident will perform services not to exceed 10 hours per day, and/or 20 hours per week.

This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) With the residents being able to help cover patient care when our faculty is short staffed, patients will continue to receive quality care.
