Announcement of an Exempt Purchase

Vendor will provide a contact printer used to produce photographic prints the same size as the negative by placing them in direct contact on top of photosensitive paper.

This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) This procurement is required to fulfill the DoD Defense University Research Instrumentation Program (DURIP) grant objectives under UIC Grant Code EC161. This purchase will bring state of the art research equipment that will further enable UIC's capabilities in developing next generation energy materials research. It will also be a valuable resource for our research collaborators and other researchers at UIC.
