The University awarded a contract for Sensor NPK Probe System.
This instrumentation and service is required by the funding agency, USDA NRCS. The funded project is to evaluate this specific product. The soil sensor, Sensor NPK Probe System sold by TCP Ag, is being evaluated in a multistate project. USDA NRCS has identified this sensor as a potential nutrient management tool in the North Central US and has asked land grant institutions to evaluate its potential for this goal.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) .
