The University awarded a contract for an MR Compatible Small Animal SPECT camera.
This order is for a developing custom-design readout electronics based on a design concept invented by the PI of this project and protected through a US patent.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) The readout circuitry that will be developed under this order is specifically designed and experimentally validated for reading out the 24 HEXITEC detectors in a single system.
