The University awarded a contract for medical equipment services.
Agiliti will provide services for IV pumps, feeding pumps, isolation and related supplies, and other patient-care equipment. Services include handling, inspecting, servicing, packaging, and delivering patient equipment and supplies directly for patient care. The University Hospital must provide medical equipment services and PPE supplies to medical staff 7 days a week, during primetime hours.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) These are services necissary for the effective use of medical equipment.
