The University awarded a contract for an OEC 3D imaging system.
This exemption is for a GE Healthcare OEC 3D imaging system with optional DICOM interface, and the required software. OEC 3D is a cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) imaging system that allows surgeons and other healthcare professionals to get real-time visualization for brochosocpy, orthopedic/spine, and vascular procedures.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) This is medical equipment used for direct patient care.
