Announcement of an Exempt Purchase

The University has a continued need for Housing Management Software / Maintenance provided by StarRez. This is needed as the management of housing operations has evolved significantly over the years, which requires a much more integrated approach and delivery of services to the student population. The initial year of this contract was previously awarded under exemption T2122040003E.

This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for procurement expenditures for any ongoing software license or maintenance agreement or competitively solicited software purchase, when the software, license, or maintenance agreement is available through only the software creator or its manufacturer and not a reseller ( 30 ILCS 500/1-13 (b)(10)) This software is only available through Starrez, the manufacturer, and is currently used by the University.
