The University awarded a contract for Pharmaceutical Supplies.
Pharmaceutical supplies for SIU Center for Family Medicine main clinic and Taylorville clinic.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) The department of Family and Community Medicine is a Federally Qualified Health Center and is offered special pricing for 340B drug pricing. We are using Henry Schein for certain vaccines because they are not available to the the clinics directly from the manufacturers at the discounted pricing. This request is exempt per Exemption 30 ILCS 500/1-13(b-5) and does not require competitive solicitation.
