The University awarded a contract for Medical & Pharma Internet Database Subscription to GlobalData Publications Inc, New York, NY, for an estimated $98,800.
A complete search that pulls in data from primary sources from federal websites, press releases, journal publications for drugs, drug target, patents, market data, publications and more. As assimilation of the data for any given therapeutic target to generate a complete report of all the drugs from pre-clinical to clinical to marketed, with a list of patents, deals, and market data for each drug. This software database helps University of Illinois Chicago, Office of Technology Management (OTM) to identify emerging markets, understand market trends, and pinpoint potential growth opportunities, as well as helps OTM to make more informed decisions, develop competitive strategies, and stay ahead of the competition. This subscription database can also help OTM identify and mitigate potential risks, including financial, operational, and regulatory risks with pursuing patents. The data from the software subscription provides OTM valuable insights for monitoring various sectors, such as health, education, and environmental issues and can help facilitate collaboration among researchers, scientists, and academics. The data from the software subscription will play a pivotal role with ways to help faculty accelerate research and development, leading to faster innovation and breakthroughs, as well as insight into global trends, patterns, and behaviors, which can be used to enhance research and development efforts.
The University has determined that this purchase is only economically available from this source because the items are required for research and no other source is able to meet the researcher's documented needs. It is a specialized service where only one vendor is capable of meeting our technical and operational requirements.
