The University awarded a contract for Legal Services - Anticipated Litigation..
University retained Counsel to represent and to serve as attorney for University in connection with specific legal matters related to anticipated litigation, investigative or enforcement actions. This posting is to provide notice of a change order to a previously awarded contract. The change order is to increase hourly rates in the contract, however, it is not anticipated to increase the estimated cost of the agreement. The original Contract's term predated the requirement in the Procurement Code to post 1-10 exemptions for anticipation of legal services at the time of the original start date of this contract, 1/3/2017.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for anticipated litigation, enforcement actions, or investigations. (30 ILCS 500/1-10(b)(7)) Responsible decision maker, Thomas Bearrows, University Counsel. Change order decision maker, Scott Rice, University Counsel. Contract# CN-00029624
