The University awarded a contract for Rapid AI Software.
Rapid AI automatically delivers patient care benefits that include faster medical diagnoses and treatments, particularly for stroke and aneurysm detection. Medical benefits include reduced treatment times, improved patient outcomes, and more consistent analysis.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) The software can significantly improve the Hospital's ability to provide patient care for majority of UIH's stroke cases that are transfers from other hospitals, and the software will provide essential timely diagnoses and treatment for patients.
