The University awarded a contract for Voluson E10 ultrasound system.
Voluson E10 is an ultrasound system designed for the leading edge in women?s health practice. This highly advanced imaging platform has the ability to run the first commercially available curved matrix array probe designed specifically for obstetrical exams.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for medical supplies or medical services necessary for the delivery of care and treatment at medical, dental, or veterinary teaching facilities utilized by SIU or U of I (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b-5)) Voluson E10 is replacing two older machines that are not consistent with the clinic?s current diagnostics standard, providing inferior resolution to diagnose fetal anomalies. Without the upgrade to new ultrasound machine, physicians may not be able to identify serious medical conditions.
