The University awarded a contract for research coordination services.
Provide all research coordination services for any department of the College of Medicine Peoria.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) Proper coordination and management of the various research studies are essential to the validity of research. The OSF Clinical Research Department has specialized training personnel and accessibility to services to ensure this happens. The College of Medicine does not have the staff, expertise, or services to devote to all of the services that OSF has at their disposal for University physicians doing research. This procurement will be paid under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations.
