The University awarded a contract for research products.
Research products to include, Lab Kits, Antibodies, Reagents, Enhancers, Bio-Solutions, Recombinant Proteins, etc. The supplies will be used by research departments throughout the University for their research projects.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) Bio-Rad can provide the necessary products so that we can continue to provide supplies for the research being done by the University departments.
