The University awarded a contract for Briteweb Ltd.
Briteweb will deliver a comprehensive federally funded research brand and website engagement solution to position the University of Illinois DocAssist program for greater clarity, scalability, and impact. The Illinois DocAssist program is a free service available to all Illinois health care and school-based clinicians and it offers psychiatric consultants who can quickly assist you with addressing the mental health and substance use problems of children, adolescents and perinatal women.
This purchase is exempt from the usual selection processes of the Procurement Code because the procurement expenditure is for performing sponsored research and other sponsored activities under grants and contracts funded by the sponsor or by sources other than State appropriations. (30 ILCS 500 / 1-13(b)(8)) Failure to expand Illinois DocAssist due to limited visibility will likely result in higher long-term healthcare costs driven by untreated or delayed mental health and substance use care, increased emergency department utilization, and avoidable hospitalizations. Without expansion, Illinois may also face greater financial strain from downstream impacts such as increased special education costs and higher public spending on crisis-based interventions rather than preventive care.
